Beck – Modern Guilt – album review

Beck's latest album Modern Guilt is to be launched in the United Kingdom on 07 July in the U.S. on 08 July. It is his first album since 2006's critically acclaimed album of Information.
Modern Guilt is only 10 tracks and is just under 34 minutes, making it more concise album of Beck's career. His last album, 2006 of the information had 15 tracks and was more 61 minutes.
What follows is a track by track look at Modern Guilt.
1. "Orphans"
Feed this may be my first favorite on the album. It has a strange sound to it transfixing. It is totally spaced out but still has a great drum beat at the same time. It also has some of the best voices I've ever heard Beck. Cat Power adds some backing vocals.
2. "Gamma Ray"
This actually reminds me of some kind of strange psychedelic tinged surf rock song, but then becomes something else entirely. It has a real sound classic rock, but everything is distorted and strange to it. This is part of the original and interesting production I've heard in a long time. The album was produced with the help of Danger Mouse "Grey Album" Gnarls Barkley fame.
3. "Chem Trails"
This is my other contender principles favorite song on the album. Beck voices unlike any vocal sound I've heard of it before. It all comes down gradually, it is totally tripped out but the song is still catchy with drums and a bass line driving the song forward.
4. "Modern Guilt"
Funky drums and atmospheres diffuse grab my attention at first. But it remains a great catchy pop song that has a great groove and cool guitar riffs.
5. "Youthless"
This album is getting better and better. This is another great song, which includes a unique chorus catchy.
6. "Walls"
A twisted string section sound immediately captures the interest. Again, this is a song that sounds very strange, but the vocal line itself is quite attractive, it is the heart is another great pop song, but with a lot of experimental touches.
7. "Replica"
Slipping beats behind this song. Sounds a bit like the drums are twice as long or maybe even quadruple when compared with the rest of the music. Quite unusual.
8. "Soul Of A Man"
This reminds me a little of Beck's Mellow Gold days, although in reality they are very similar to anything in particular. It's another original song. That's probably the real achievement of this album, the originality of it. For someone who has already given us so much good music original, it's amazing that Beck still pulling new tricks.
9. "Profanity Prayers"
Wow. Just another great song. Literally every song of this album is a winner. This may be tighter, more consistent album of Beck's career major. While Guero and especially of information I had some great moments, the two times I felt like it lasted too long with too many songs that were not as great as those who were around him. That is not the case Modern Guilt. Each song sounds necessary and will not fail.
10. "Volcano"
I know I said "Orphans" and "Chemtrails" were the two tracks in the running for my favorite track, but I think this is a right there. It's a song that has the depth of his feelings for a song Sea Change but was arranged in a fault very modern way, and I quite like the way Modern Guilt.
